The traditional feast of St Anthony was celebrated at the St Anthony Chapel at Deussua in Chinchinim on Sunday with pomp and religious fervor.

Devotees were seen at the chapel since early morning to participate in the Eucharistic celebration and seek blessings of the saint.

In his homily, Fr Aires Furtado exhorted the people in this year of mercy to experience the mercy of God through the sacrament of reconciliation and make the feast of St Anthony a fruitful one.

The St Anthony Chapel at Deussua-Chinchinim draws devotees from far and wide, with people thronging the chapel not only during the novenas and the annual feast, but every week to seek blessings and offer prayers to the saint.
