Angela Qazi who runs PAWS had alleged harassment by CCP Mayor Surendra Furatdo and Commissioner Dipak Desai, stating that they had taken six of her ten employees for garbage collection, thus leaving her handicapped to do the work of PAWS.
The statement issued by CCP Commissioner Dipak Desai stated: “Angela Kazi neither has any agreement nor memorandum of understanding (MoU) or any contract with the CCP. She is using our staff, vehicles, money, shed and land without any authority. She is not cooperating with CCP and working independently.” “Qazi is misusing our resources and carrying out private business within our premises for money,” he alleged.
Pointing out that Qazi refused to cooperate with CCP to catch stray dogs during the President’s visit, he stated, “She refused to cooperate with us to catch stray dog near Raj Bhavan on my request following directives from the chief minister. I had to personally visit the site along with my staff and carry out the work. I had issued two notices to her to produce documents but she failed to do the same.”
