The alternative Chandel-Hasapur road has been completely closed to traffic due to heavy waterlogging caused by torrential rains, causing severe hardships to residents, students, and commuters.
At present, only four-wheelers and two-wheelers are permitted to use the newly constructed Chandel-Hasapur bridge. The prohibition of passenger buses, school buses, ambulances, and fire tenders on this route has disrupted essential services.
Local residents have claimed that since the alternative road has been currently cut-off due to heavy rains, temporary permission should be granted to passenger and school buses to use the new bridge, as it would alleviate the major inconvenience faced by students, working professionals, senior citizens, and commuters.
Furthermore, in medical emergencies, ambulances are forced to take a long detour, potentially endangering lives of patients.
Villagers in the area have expressed the hope that granting permission for at least public transport—subject to necessary conditions and safety regulations regarding the new bridge—would provide significant relief to the citizens.
