The Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) of Goa Police has released an advisory for all Sarvajanik Ganesh pandals as the State gets ready to celebrate the much revered Ganesh Chaturthi next week.
With thousands of devotees expected to throng the pandals, Quick Response Teams (QRT) will be visiting these places for ‘checking and ensuring security.’
“If any suspicious activity is noted then the same may be immediately informed to the Police Control Room by dialing 100/7875756000,” reads a press statement by the ATS PI (Operations).
The Goa Police have also instructed the Ganesh Utsav Pandals to install CCTV cameras to keep a close watch on the daily movements of the people. “If possible, a security guard may be deployed by the committees during the late hours to guard the valuables, ornaments and belongings. Bursting of firecrackers may be done by maintaining distance from pandals, vehicles and animals,” it further said.
The committees are also asked to ensure fire fighting equipment is in place for any emergency situation.
