The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has demanded a high-level investigation into the criminal negligence that led to the death of a 42-year-old person with disabilities, who had fallen from the government building in Porvorim, last week.
AAP delegation led by party State President Amit Palekar on Friday called on the Department of Social Welfare demanding an immediate compensation of Rs 50 lakh to the victim’s family.
In their series of demands, which are also forwarded to the Chief Minister’s Office, the party has demanded a high-level investigation into the criminal negligence that led to the tragic incident as the old SCERT building was already declared unsafe.
AAP also urged the government to immediately relocate the government offices and the Vocational Center of Sanjay School to an accessible and safe building.
The party has also called for a complete audit of all government offices and institutions, whether in public buildings or private buildings, with regard to general structural safety as well as accessibility infrastructure for PWDs.
