Speaking to reporters after seeking blessings of Shree Bhagavti Temple and Shree Ravalnath temple in Pernem to start the Shigmotsav festival which will be held on Monday, Azgaonkar said he joined another party and became a minister to undertake all-round development of Pernem constituency.
“Pernem people have shown trust by supporting me and I will not hurt their sentiments,” he said.
“Everyone is in need of government jobs. If there are 50 government jobs, over 2,000 applications are received. Only needy people will be given jobs,” he added.
Stating that no government has succeeded in curbing unemployment, Azgaonkar said various projects will be taken up in Pernem constituency and private jobs with good salaries will be provided.
“Mopa airport is important as it will create jobs. My focus will be maximum jobs for locals at the airport. Many starred hotels and other projects are likely to come up in the taluka and locals will also get jobs,” added Azgaonkar.
Speaking on the occasion, Mandrem MLA Dayanand Sopte said people of Pernem have shown trust in both the MLAs. “We will take up all-round development of Pernem with people’s help.”
