PONDA:
The talathi office is located at Maangirwada, near Saibaba temple, while the panchayat office is one kilometre away towards Ponda.
The gram sabha, presided by Sarpanch Constancio Luis, was attended by seven panchas, while one panch remained absent. Secretary Prasad Naik was present.
The villagers complained that as the talathi office is located one kilometre away from the panchayat building, they find it difficult to travel from one office to another to complete their works. They said if the talathi office is shifted to the panchayat office, then it will save time.
Villagers from Tambshire and Shirshirem complained of water scarcity and the panchayat resolved to construct two reservoirs in these areas. The residents brought to the notice of the panchayat that at many places plots are being developed and once houses are constructed, water scarcity problem will increase.
Sarpanch Luis assured the villagers to take up all the pending works and also new works before the end of this term.
He informed that LED streetlights will be installed on all internal roads of panchayat jurisdiction soon. “The department concerned has already installed LED streetlights on highway passing from the panchayat area,” he said.
Sarpanch Luis assured to resolve the issue of gym, providing gym instruments and its revamp, within 10 days. “I understand there is a need for a good gym in our area. We have it in the panchayat building, but there are no facilities. I will try to provide all the facilities,” he added.
He also assured to do follow-up of the pending work of the ground at Kalmamall-Borim.
