The panel headed by former chairman of Sattari Taluka Farmers' Co-operative Society, Balasaheb Dessai, swept to power at the elections held to the society, after winning six of eight posts to the board of directors at the elections.
The members elected from Desai's panel were Balasaheb Dessai, Pandurang Gawas, Shahaji Desai, Pradeep Gawandalkar, Vithoba Sawant and Sitaram Desai.
Two members from the opposition group who also got elected are Adv. Ganpat Gaonkar and Vadkar Sagun.
Satish Sawant, special auditor of the co-operative societies, was the returning officer during the elections.
