Bandodkar birthday celebrations
BICHOLIM: The Gomantak Maratha Samaj Sakhali will celebrate the 105th birth anniversary of late Dayanand (Bhausaheb) Balkrishna Bandodkar, the first chief minister of Goa, with cultural activities from March 7 to 12.
The programme will begin at Sawant hall, Karapur-Bicholim, on March 7, at 4 pm and will continue in the same premises up to March 11. The valedictory function, entertainment programmes and competitions will be organised at Ravindra Bhavan Sakhali from 9 am to 4 pm.
Competitions like dhalo, fugdi, garba, samai dance, abhang, gawlan singing, ghumat aarti for men and women, one-act play, harmonium, tabla solo, group dance, solo dance, karaoke singing, handwriting, drawing, handicraft, rangoli (flowers, petals and other designs), Bharatkam art, mehandi and hair dressing for women, chess and carrom will be organised besides spot games.
