The State Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is all set to celebrate the 60th birthday of Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar on July 5 at Taleigao Community Hall.
Senior BJP leaders including Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, Union Minister for Transport Nitin Gadkari, BJP National Vice President Purushottam Rupala and AYUSH Minister Shripad Naik are expected to participate in the event.
BJP has also formed a 109-member birthday celebration committee under the chairmanship of Parrikar for organising the event.
“Parsekar is one of the senior-most leaders. We have also celebrated the 60th birthday of other leaders like Parrikar and Arlekar. The birthday programme will be mainly the felicitation of Chief Minister. I don’t see much of an expenditure in the entire event,” said Deputy Chief Minister Francis D’Souza in response to a query.
