Traffic was paralysed for nearly 4 hours at Dhargal and power supply was disrupted in the morning, as trees got uprooted in two different places in Pernem taluka on Thursday.
A tree came crashing down on electricity poles along the roadside near Dhareshwar Temple at Dhargal, disrupting traffic for nearly 4 hours and power supply for nearly a half day.
A cashew tree got uprooted on the main road at Poroscadem, causing traffic congestion for an hour.
Fire fighter officials took charge of both the incidents and cleared the debris of the fallen trees from the roads. Prashant Dhargalkar, Rama Naik, Sameer Korgaonkar, Vishant Vaigankar and Prashant Sawal took part in the operations.
