The Judicial Magistrate First Class, Margao has convicted and sentenced one Rajan Gawda (32 years), a resident of Belagavi-Karnataka in connection with the theft of a two-wheeler at Nuvem.
Judicial Magistrate First Class, Margao Sunita A. Gaunekar has convicted the accused under Section 379 of the IPC and directed him to undergo simple imprisonment for a period of three months.
In this case, the prosecution had charge that the accused had on January 31, 2023 committed theft of the Pleasure scooter bearing registration No.GA-08-AJ-5648, worth of Rs 35,000 at Cupem-Nuvem, which was parked in an open parking space.
Assistant Public Prosecutor Stanford Fernandes examined the prosecution witnesses in support of the case.
In the order, Judge Gaunekar observed, “The factors like that the accused is of young age and handicapped...and this is the only criminal case filed against him in which has been stands convicted, are in my view the mitigating circumstances”.
