Bihar native held with Ganja worth Rs 2.60 L

A Bihar native was arrested on charges of illegal possession of narcotics worth Rs 2.60 lakh, Calangute Police informed.
The accused identified as Rampriya Kumar Chaudhary (22) is a resident of Bicholim.
Police informed that they received specific inputs that one person would come to deliver narcotic substance to prospective customers near the Dolphin Circle in Calangute.
A police team led by PSI Kiran Naik lay in wait for their bait and promptly nabbed the accused who came on a two-wheeler on Saturday noon.
During a personal search, police found in his possession 2.610 kg of greenish colour leafy substance suspected to be ganja worth Rs 2.60 lakh.
The accused was arrested under Section 20 (b) (ii) (B) of NDPS Act 1985 and remanded to police custody.
The raiding police team consisted of PSI Kiran Naik, HC Vidhyanand Amonkar, PCs Vijay Naik, Amir Garad, Bhagwan Palyekar, Ganpat Tiloji, Ganesh Parsekar and Pranay Gawas.
Further investigation is in progress under the supervision of Calangute PI Dattaguru Sawant under the guidance of SDPO Porvorim and SP North Nidhin Valsan (IPS).
