The Congress has slammed the ruling BJP for cheating Goans on the issue of OCI, asserting the INDIA bloc government will resolve the issue in June.
Asserting that once again jumlas of BJP stands exposed with Ministry of External Affairs backing out on its earlier memorandum creating confusion over OCI registration, Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao has said that giving hardships and mental torture to citizens is in the DNA of BJP.
He said the INDIA government will resolve this issue after coming to power in June.
Reacting to the corrigendum issued by Ministry of External Affairs stating, “It is under consideration of Home Ministry to accept “Revocation Certificate” as an alternative in lieu of Surrender Certificate of Indian Passport to grant OCI cards, Yuri Alemao said BJP has cheated Goans.
“It is noticed time and again that BJP always gives step motherly treatment to seafarers and Goans working abroad. BJP has always insulted and abused our own Goans who work abroad to earn their livelihood, claimed Yuri. He demanded that Chief Minister Pramod Sawant who was prompt to thank the Central government after the memorandum was issued on 4th April 2024 should now make government’s position clear.
