BJP has not asked me to join, nor become CM: Digambar

Asserting that he lives in the present and not in the past or the future, Congress MLA Digambar Kamat, who is widely perceived as a probable candidate for the post of Chief Minister, has made it clear that he believes in destiny wherein nobody can give anything or nobody can change anything.
The former Chief Minister also slammed the state of administration in the state, saying Goa will go backward as the present vacuum has been creating problem for the state and the people.
After returning home last night after paying respects to Lord Ganesha at Lalbaug-Mumbai, Kamat clarified that the BJP has not approached him till date to join the party and become the next Chief Minister.
“I believe in destiny wherein nobody can give anything or nobody can change anything,” Kamat told the media on the sidelines of a media briefing at a city hotel on Tuesday.
Instead, Kamat hopes for a stable government in the state to tide over the administrative crisis. “Whichever government comes it should be stable. The administration is in bad shape. For over three months now, there’s no one to handle things. The charge of administration has not been handed over to anyone. This has been creating problems as a result of which the state will go backward," Kamat asserted.
Reiterating that he has received no proposal from the BJP to join the Party and take over the post of Chief Minister, the Margao MLA said, “I have clarified on many occasions that the BJP has not asked me to join their party. There is no truth in the stories. All these stories are planted. I live in the present and I don’t live in the past or the future. Till date no one has approached me to break away from the Congress.”
To a query, he said he is unaware whether the Congress leaders had gone into a huddle to elect a leader of the Congress Legislature Party. “I have no idea whether the Congress MLAs have met yesterday since I was in Mumbai attending Ganesh festivities at Lalbaugh,” he said.
Asked for his choice of candidate in the event the Congress manages to form an alternate government, Kamat said the party leaders will decide on that question. “I don’t give opinions when I have no power to give any opinion on the question of CLP leadership,” he added.
