Body of lady who was swept away recovered

The body of the 56-year old deceased farmer, Florina D’Souza, who was feared drowned while heading to the fields on Wednesday, was fished out from a water body on Thursday morning.

Additional Collector, South Dipak Desai informed that Florina’s body was found floating in the water body before it was fished out.

The 56-year old woman from Cota-Fatorpa was feared drowned on Wednesday morning at Naqueri-Betul while she was heading to the paddy fields along with another farmer Rosalina Simoes.

Both the women were washed away by the water current. Rosalina, however, survived after she caught hold of a tree branch.

The police is investigating.
