The 16th annual book exhibition held in the premises of Gomant Vidhya Niketan (GVN) was inaugurated by engineer and Curchorem resident Shailesh Sanzgiri.
A press release issued by GVN authorities informs that Sanzgiri is an avid reader, who is also actively involved in cultural and social fields. Sanzgiri lighted the traditional lamp and garlanded the portrait of Goddess Saraswati to mark the inauguration.
The book exhibition is open till January 10, from 9.30 am to 8.30 pm where books are available at discounted rates.
Meanwhile, Marathi Vidnyaan Parishad (MVP) Goa Vibhagh has organized a talk on the topic 'Exploring our Universe' by Dr Vital Tilvi on January 5, at 4 pm at Fomento Amphi theatre, second floor, Gomant Vidya Niketan, Margao.
MVP (Goa) secretary, Dr Reshma Raut Dessai informs that Dr Tilvi is a Goan born astronomer from Texas A&M University, United States. “He is one among the three astronomers who recently discovered farthest galaxy, which may be close to the edge of the universe which is one of the 100,000 galaxies discovered by Hubble Space Telescope (HST),” informs the press release.
