A bridge on the main road in the vicinity of Shree Mahadev Temple in Kasarvarne Panchayat has become extremely dangerous for commuters.
The cement concrete underneath the bridge has washed away, and the iron rods are all rusted.
The bridge has become fragile and is at risk of breaking or falling apart anytime a heavy vehicle crosses it.
After inspecting the bridge, Adv Jitendra Gaonkar, Uday Mahale, and Bhaskar Narulkar demanded that the bridge should be urgently repaired, as it has become dangerous for crossing.
Pointing out that if the bridge falls, there is no other alternative road for traveling to the temple and other places, the local Congress leaders appealed to the government to construct a
new bridge.
The local panch members have put up a proposal too, but no action has yet been taken regarding the construction of a new bridge.
Adv Jitendra Gaonkar blamed the government for neglecting the issues of locals. Uday Mahale stated that the bridge is crucial for the local people.
Bhaskar Narulkar appealed that along with this bridge, other small and big bridges in the villages in Goa that are in a dilapidated state should be repaired immediately to avoid any major mishap.
