Anjuna Police arrested one person on charges of stabbing a 30-year-old youth Ravi Shirodkar from Calangute in the wee hours of Saturday near the Arpora-Nagoa circle.
Police is on the look for another five to six persons who were part of the gang who allegedly carried out the dastardly attack.
The victim who has received stab injuries in his abdomen was shifted to the Goa Medical College, Bambolim where he underwent surgery.
The accused who has been arrested, Tarzan Parsekar is a resident of Saligao and was earlier arrested in another attempt to murder case.
The incident happened at around 4 am when the victim and his friends were holding a booze party around 200 metres away from the Nagoa circle.
According to police, the alleged accused along with his accomplices arrived at the spot and stabbed the victim in his abdomen and sped away.
Anjuna Police Inspector Prashal Desai along with other police officials rushed to the spot and shifted the victim to GMC.
While the motive for the murderous attack was yet to be established, police suspect that previous enmity could be the probable reason. “We are investigating in the matter. Search is on to apprehend another five to six persons who are involved in the attack,” a senior police officer informed.
Anjuna Police is investigating further.
