The Village Panchayat of Majorda Utorda Calata organized an all Goa schools patriotic songs singing competition on the occasion of Republic Day, at 10 am in the Majorda Club hall. The main aim of the competition was to celebrate the Republic Day and inculcate love for our nation and motherland. St Jude High School, Betalbatim bagged the first place. Altogether 11 schools participated.
House partly damaged in firePONDA: One room of a house belonging to Diago Gracias from St Cruz-Ponda was gutted in a fire on Tuesday morning. The Ponda Fire Services pressed a fire tender into service and prevented the fire from spreading to other parts of the house. Some household items were destroyed in the fire.
