CANACONA
A car crashed into a roadside electricity pole on the Agonda-Canacona road at Devabhaga, while a container truck rammed into crash barriers at Karmalghat on Saturday.
According to sources, the car was travelling from Agonda to Canacona at high speed in the wee hours of Saturday and on crossing a sharp turn at Devabhaga, crashed into a roadside electricity pole.
Five youth in the car at the time of the mishap escaped without any injuries.
The electricity pole broke into three pieces, disrupting the power supply in the area. The pole was later replaced and the power supply was restored, informed sources.
In another mishap, a container truck rammed into crash barriers at Karmalghat early Saturday morning.
The truck was proceeding from Karnataka towards Margao when the driver tried to negotiate an oncoming vehicle and the truck rammed into the crash barriers. The driver and cleaner escaped unhurt in the mishap.
