OLD GOA
One person was arrested by Old Goa police under the Arms Act along with an attempt to murder on Saturday after he flashed a gun to threaten another person and later caused injury to that person with a sword.
According to information available, the accused Chetan Korgaonkar initially threatened the victim Santosh Shetty at his apartment at Vhodlem Bhat-Santa Cruz, and later, when Shetty came out of the building, allegedly attacked him with a sword, causing him injuries.
Upon receipt of the information, the Old Goa police apprehended Korgaonkar and later placed him under arrest under the Arms Act and 307 of IPC.
He will be produced before the local court for his remand. Sources informed that several complaints have been filed against Korgaonkar at the Old Goa police station.
PSI Edwin Dias is conducting further investigations into the matter under the supervision of PI Vikram Naik.
