Chandor GS questions status of 2 plots donated to p’yat in 1980s

MARGAO

The Gram Sabha of Chandor village panchayat on Sunday discussed the issue of the MRF facility and the two missing plots reportedly gifted by the local Communidade to the panchayat body.

At the meeting chaired by Sarpanch Estefan Dias, members demanded to know the status of the two plots gifted by the Communidade body to the village panchayat in the 1980s.

Sarpanch Dias explained to the members that the Panchayat had no documents to suggest that the Communidade body had gifted the two plots to the body. In fact, the sarpanch pointed out that the Panchayat had lodged a police complaint around six months ago as per the resolution of the Gram Sabha on the issue. He, however, said the police complaint has not yielded any results to date.

The MRF facility also came up for discussion. The sarpanch pointed out that the panchayat garbage management committee is meeting on Monday to take stock of the situation and take measures. When asked about the budget estimates for the financial year 2024-25, the Sarpanch said the panchayat will call for a Special Gram Sabha to discuss and approve the budget.
