Gram Sabha members of Assolna Village Panchayat on Sunday expressed their concern over the desilting of the River Sal close to the Assolna-Chinchinim bridge. At the Gram Sabha held on Sunday, members pointed out that desilting and dredging of the rivers cannot be carried out close to a bridge.
The members asked the Chair to bring the activity to the notice of the government authorities for necessary action.
Gram Sabha member Savio Ferreira raised the question of payments made for the renovation of the Assolna Children’s Park. Claiming that payments have been made for the renovation project, Savio demanded that the Panchayat come clean over the expenses made on the beautification of the Assolna Children’s Park and the payment made to the contractor.
