Chandra is Goa's new DGP

Mukesh Chandra, an 1988 batch IPS officer will be Goa’s new Director General of Police, replacing incumbent T N Mohan who has been transferred to Delhi.

The transfer order issued by Director (Services) on February 16 has also promoted and transferred Goa’s Deputy Inspector General of Police, who is now an Inspector General of Police to Delhi. Superintendent of Police Chandan Chowdhary a 2010 batch female IPS officer has also been posted to Goa.

Goa still has 4 IFS posts vacant

As many as four posts of Goa’s quota in the IFS cadre are lying vacant for want of qualified officers to be promoted, sources in the forest department have revealed even as Minister for Forests Rajendra Arlekar complains about the ‘extra’ forest officers who according to him are blocking the promotions of State cadre.
