After holding a successful mega health camp in Canacona, Community Health Centre and Taluka Health Officer Dr Jose Tavares informed that more Periphery Camps would be organised under Aayushman Bhav Health Mela in each of the villages in Canacona taluka in the near future.
Over 300 residents took the benefits of the day-long mega health camp organised under Aayushman Bhav Health Mela at CHC Canacona on Friday. Various doctors including specialists drawn from the district and other hospitals were present at the mega camp, in which people from all villages and municipal areas took the benefit of free consultation, tests and medicines.
Speaking on the occasion, Health Officer Dr Jose Tavares informed that similar camps would be arranged in the periphery (villages) every week till December.
“We are working on plans and it will be informed accordingly to the public. People who find difficulties in travelling to long distance like coming to CHC, etc. can easily avail of these periphery camps,” said Dr Tavares.
According to Dr Tavares more than 300 people availed the benefits of the medical camp, including homoeopathic (25), general (100), ayurvedic (28), ophthalmic (48), dental (27), paediatric (33), ENT (23), orthopaedic (9), gynaecology (38), psychiatric (13), Abha Id (40), PMJSY (01) and Hemoglobin (152).
Earlier in the day, the health mela was inaugurated by Speaker and Canacona MLA Ramesh Tawadkar, in the presence of CMC Chairperson Ramakant Naik Gaonkar, Health Officer Dr Jose Tavares, CPDA Nayani Naik Gaonkar, Medical Officer Dr Divakar Velip, other doctors, Anganwadi workers and CHC Staff.
