Revenue Minister Rohan Khaunte on Thursday warned of strict action against officials failing to dispose off mutation and partition cases within 90 days.
Khaunte was speaking to reporters inspecting paddy fields in Cotigao destroyed in a recent flood causing heavy loss to farmers.
"Any delay on the part of deputy collectors and mamlatdars in processing mutation and partition cases will not be taken lightly. These issues need to be disposed within 90 days and any delay will not be tolerated at all," Khaunte informed reporters after he visited the Canacona deputy collector's office.
Earlier, Khaunte along with Canacona MLA Isidore Fernandes, Collector (South) Anjali Sherawat, Dy Collector (Canacona) Kedar Naik, Canacona Mamlatdar Ramesh Gaonkar inspected some paddy fields and other cultivations to take stock of damages caused by recent flash floods in Cotigao.
"Both, Agriculture Minister Vijay Sardesai and I will persuade CM to provide maximum rehabilitation to the affected farmers."
Later interacting with farmers near the Panchayat Ghar in Cotigao, Khaunte said as part of measures to avert such floods, the government will give the task to residents themselves to clean and remove blockages of Bhandaras and other water outlets blocking the free flow of rainwater in the identified areas.
Khaunte also assured residents that the pending Kumeri and Forest issues would be resolved on priority, and also proposed a joint meeting with the Canaocna MLA, Canacona mamlatdar and the sarpanch to hasten the process.
Khaunte also visited 20-point programme residential units at Potkem-Poinguinim and Mastimoll.
"Within a month, we will open a Citizen Service Centre in South Goa. It will provide services to Canacona and other areas also," he said.
Addl Collector Johnson Fernandes, Canacna ZAO Chandrahas Dessai, Cotigao Sarpanch Daya Gaonkar and Gaondongrim Sarpanch Suman Gaonkar were present.
