Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has assured to bring a change in the tourism licence policy for private property huts and shacks in the State.
Deputy Speaker Isidore Fernandes led a group of private property huts and shacks stakeholders to the office of the CM on Thursday.
Several private property huts and shacks operators from Canacona voicing their grievances in obtaining tourism licences approached the Canacona MLA, after which he facilitated an appointment with the CM.
According to sources, tourism stakeholders in the presence of the MLA discussed various issues with the CM giving a patient hearing. Stakeholders also explained how and what issues they face over the years regarding shacks and huts on private properties, and called upon all the authorities of different departments, including CRZ, tourism and electricity departments.
"Finally, CM has promised us that the change will be made in the licence policy," informed Simon Rebello, one of the stakeholders accompanying Canacona MLA to CM.
"We appreciate the immediate help given to our issue amid the pandemic by our CM and Deputy Speaker," stated Suraj Ballikar another stakeholder.
All Goa Private Property Shacks and Huts Owners Association Dharmesh Saglani, Gaspar, Nilesh Pagui, Canacona BJP Block Committee president Nandip Bhagat were also present.
