Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday clarified that toll will be mandatory for all vehicles on the Mopa Link Road, but appealed to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari to offer concession toll passes to taxi operators and locals.
Admitting that some may not have received compensation for their land which has been used for the Mopa Link Road project, Sawant assured to fast track the compensation.
He stated that Mopa airport will be become a Cargo hub which will boost the economy of Goa.
The chief minister reiterated that Dabolim airport is equally important for Goan and the State government would not allow it to be shut down for civilian flight operations.
“An amount of Rs 1,500 crore has been sanctioned for the construction of a Ring Road at Dabolim,” said Sawant.
