During the camp, citizens were provided with free health check-ups, consultations, and treatment services by various Ayurvedic specialists. Guidance and treatment were offered for a range of conditions including digestive disorders, joint pain, skin diseases, and stress-related issues.
Speaking on the occasion, Sawant stated that Ayurveda is India’s ancient and effective medical tradition, and it remains highly relevant even in modern lifestyles. He further expressed the government’s intention to organise similar integrated health camps across all 40 constituencies of the State to ensure better healthcare access for citizens.
Expressing concern over the rising number of patients suffering from cancer, diabetes, and those requiring dialysis, he urged citizens to undergo regular health check-ups to maintain long-term health.
He also mentioned ongoing efforts to increase the availability of AYUSH doctors, launch a free health information website for patients, and implement a single-window system to provide various healthcare services efficiently.
Health Minister Vishwajit Rane stated that such initiatives help raise awareness among citizens regarding health and strengthen trust in Ayurvedic treatment systems.
He added that over the past eight years, significant transformation has taken place in the State’s healthcare and education sectors, with a strong focus on employment generation.
The camp received an overwhelming response from local citizens, with a large number of people benefiting from the health check-up by a team of doctors.
The chief Minister also visited Progress High School, where he guided students and celebrated his birthday by cutting a cake with them. Additionally, a rangoli and painting exhibition was organized at Ravindra Bhavan to mark his birthday. People from various parts of Goa extended their best wishes to him.
