CM meets PACT Foundation’s first Goa Super 100 Scholars

PANAJI

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant met and congratulated the first two students selected under the PACT Foundation’s Goa Super 100 Scholarship initiative before they left to join BML Munjal University near Delhi.

The scholars are Laxmi Nilesh Toraskar from Nerul, who will pursue a BA in Economics, and Satwija Bablo Naik from Dabal, who will study BA LLB. Selected on the basis of merit and financial need, each has received a scholarship worth Rs 30 lakh for the entire course. The scholarship covers tuition fees, hostel accommodation, meals, a computer and other essential study materials in collaboration with BML Munjal 

University.

In a social media post, Sawant said he also met PACT Foundation Founder Dr Ashwin Fernandes and praised the organisation for empowering Goan youth through education.He described the Goa Super 100 Scholarship as an important initiative that helps students from marginalised communities access higher education at leading universities across India.

Dr Ashwin Fernandes said the scholarship gives talented students from villages a fair opportunity by removing financial barriers.

He thanked the Chief Minister for meeting the students and said their success would inspire many more.

The PACT Foundation delegation also included co-founder Amelia Ferrao and Project Executive Darryl Fernandes.

Goa Super 100 is the Foundation’s flagship scholarship programme. It aims to support 100 Goan students from marginalised communities with undergraduate education and hostel accommodation at leading universities across the country.

Founded in 2023, the Goa-based PACT Foundation works in education, youth empowerment and social transformation. Its Happy Schools Project has reached more than 40 schools across Goa, benefiting over 10,000 students.
