CM presents report card of infra development for last 10 years

Attributing Goa’s Rs 30,000 crore infrastructural and human development to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant called for support from the people of Goa to bring back the double engine BJP government back to power in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

As the Chief Minister presented his report card in front of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Viksit Bharat, Viksit Goa rally at the Margao KTC bus stand on Tuesday noon, he got the mammoth gathering raise their hands in support of the Prime Minister in the coming election.

CM Sawant took full control of the rally, monitoring the arrival of the people to taking stock of the catering. He received a rousing reception when he entered the pandal to take stock of the situation.

Presenting his report card of the infrastructure Development ushered in Goa during the last 10 years of the double engine government, the Chief Minister said that around Rs 30,000 crore of infrastructure was developed in the state in the last decade, including the second largest cable-stayed 6-lane  new Zuari Bridge in India at a cost of Rs 2,530 crore.

The Chief Minister also made a mention of the various missions and flagships implemented in Goa launched by the Prime Minister at the national level, including Fit Goa and inclusive Goa, referring to the successful conduct of the National Games in October 2023 and the recently organized Purple festival.

In his speech, the Chief Minister made a mention of the inauguration of the Rs 390 crore NIT project at Cuncolim, the first national water sports project at Dona Paula and the inauguration of the Rs 173 crore Cacora waste treatment plant as the achievements of his government.

He said the Rs 290 crore Rope way project on the PPP model connecting Panjim to Reis Magos will go a long way in boosting tourism, adding that the additional 100 MLD water treatment plant at Xelpem, Selaulim will help augment water supply to the people of Goa.
