PANAJI
The Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) and Electricity Department on Friday lodged a police complaint against unknown persons for allegedly pasting advertisement posters on the electrical properties. In the drive launched on the same day, CCP Commissioner Agnelo Fernandes and the officers of the Electricity Department zeroed in on several poles, transformers and other electrical properties covered with commercial advertisement posters.
While these were cautiously removed, the field officers subsequently filed a complaint with the Panaji police station seeking action against the concerned accused under the Defacement of Public Properties Act. Fernandes said that all the 30 wards in the CCP jurisdiction will be covered under the drive.
The Panaji police have begun an inquiry with, sources stating, that the accused once identified could even face arrest.
