The Congress held its first Lok Sabha preparatory meeting in Canacona on Wednesday.
GPCC President Amit Patkar along with Lok Sabha MP (South) Francisco Sardinha, Canacona Congress Block President Abel Tome Borges chaired the meeting and guided workers on the preparatory works that need to be done to retain the South Goa seat.
“We have no doubt that Canacona voters will give a crucial lead to Congress to retain the 2024 MP seat for the party,” said Patkar.
The Congress leaders sought to strengthen the Congress party in Canacona, appoint booth-wise coordinators at every booth and to appoint a team of 5-committee members to work with booth-level leaders to oversee the party’s progress and strengthen the organisation at the grassroots.
GPCC Vice-President Subash Phaldessai, General Secretary's Everson Vales and Moreno Rebelo, Congress South Goa President Savio D'Silva, Canacona Block President Abel Borges, Goa Pradesh Youth Congress Vice President Vaishnav Pednekar and others took part in the discussion on various modalities as preparations for the Lok Sabha elections.
