Cong looted nation: Parrikar

Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on Sunday advised his leaders to sideline the criticism and allegations levelled by the opposition, as everyone is aware of the development done by the BJP government.

PONDA

He was speaking after releasing the souvenir of Bethora Nirankal Panchayat. It consists of developmental works undertaken by the local body since last four years. Industries Minister Mahadev Naik, ZP Deepak Naik Borkar, Bethora Nirankal Sarpanch Punam Samant, Panch Chandrakant Samant, Durgaprasad Vaidya, BJP State President Vinay Tendulkar and others were also present. On the occasion, the panchayat staff was felicitated by Parrikar. The function was organised at Gananath Hall, Nirankal-Ponda. “I am satisfied that Rs 35 to 40 crore have been spent in last four years for development in Bethora Nirankal Panchayat jurisdiction and Rs 125 crore have been spent on schemes. Where this money, which we are using on schemes, was diverted during the Congress regime?” Parrikar questioned. “Congress was looting the nation when they were in power. Scams were seen in all the areas. Even in Goa there was mining scam, which forced the Central government to suspend mining business,” he said. Speaking on the occasion, Industries Minister Mahadev Naik said Shiroda constituency was under terror and it attained freedom only after he was elected as MLA. “Congress failed to provide basic facilities to the people of Shiroda, though it ruled for over two decades. But it was BJP government which gave all the facilities,” he said. “Some are addressing news conferences to level allegations against me at behest of Congress leader from Shiroda. This is happening only because we are in election mode, but people are so prudent that they will not succumb to false allegations,” he added. Tendulkar said the opposition in Shiroda is raking up unwanted issues, as elections are approaching. “But I am very sure that Mahadev Naik will get elected for the third consecutive time,” he said. Punam Samant said 36 women groups have benefited from several government schemes. “The BJP government helped our jurisdiction with several developmental projects,” she added. Chandrakant Samant said all the development of Shiroda constituency has taken place and there is no scope for the opposition for anti-campaign for 2017 assembly elections. “Mahadev Naik will win with 5000 lead,” Samant said.

Congress was looting the nation when they were in power. Scams were seen in all the areas.””Manohar Parrikar
