Vowing to go personally to each and every home in the state, the Congress launched its ‘Jan Sampark Abhiyaan’ on Tuesday in the midst of Leader of Opposition Chandrakant Kavlekar, party president Girish Chodankar, Goa in-charge Dr Chella Kumar, party MLAs, ex MLAs and other party workers.
Speaking at the launch, Kavlekar said, “We will tell the people of all the failures of the Modi government,” while Chodankar said, “We’ll go personally to each house and make people feel that the Congress party is their party.”
Meanwhile, Dr Chella Kumar told those present, “Instead of addressing the common man’s issues, they are polarizing people. I appeal to the people of Goa not to waste your vote by voting for someone other than the Congress. We are the only party who can beat the BJP,” he said. He vowed that party workers would visit each and every household, irrespective of peoples’ leanings.
The Congress have also designed brochures titled “Fakery Derails Modi Sarkar Fails” with caricatures of Modi on each point where they felt Modi had “failed.”
Under “Corruption”, the brochure highlights the “jumla” of bringing back black money and crediting Rs 15 lakh in bank accounts, the Rafale scam, demonetisation, collusion and connivance with corrupt defaulters and economic offenders, the mysterious rise of the fortunes of Amit Shah’s son - a 16000 times increase, the Vyapam scams, the Smart City scheme, the SEZ scam, among others.
Under “Betrayal of Youth”, the brochure mentions unemployment among other things, besides numerous other points under other sub-headings.
Specific to Goa, the
brochure mentions the mining ban, formalin in fish, PDAs, regional plan, investment promotion board, medium of instruction, casinos, CRZ notification, coal handling, nationalisation of rivers, stoppage of social schemes, misuse of police machinery specially through selected IPS officers, illegal renewal of 88 mining leases, economic and financial burden on the state, flip-flop on Mhadei dispute, ketamine, beach-cleaning scam, no proper tourism policy and a host of other issues.
