PERNEM: Pernem Police on Thursday detained a truck driver and seized contraband liquor worth Rs 25,000 at Patradevi check post.
According to Pernem PI Devendra Gad, police acted on a tip-off that liquor was being smuggled in a truck and Pernem PSI Redkar along with a police team intercepted the vehicle (MH-14-DM-6763) at the Patradevi check post.
During investigation, the police found water pumps and liquor boxes hidden below the pumps. In all, 13 boxes of different brand of liquor were found in the vehicle.
Police detained the truck driver from Khed-Pune and also seized the liquor and the vehicle in this connection.
