Cop dies in accident at Cuncolim

A police constable attached to the Cuncolim police station died after he was knocked down by a four-wheeler at Cuncolim bus stand.

According to Cuncolim police, the incident occurred when the deceased, Prabhakar Gaonkar (26), a police constable attached to Cuncolim police station, was travelling to Cuncolim on his scooter after completing some official work at Margao.

As he reached the Cuncolim bus stand, he was knocked down by an oncoming four-wheeler. Police said the deceased died due to the impact of the accident.

Further investigations are in progress.
