MARGAO: The police are on the job to find out how the Swift car which is registered in the name of one Nandkishore Arolkar came in the possession of the two accused in the Guirdolim robbery.
District police chief, SP Arvind Gawas said the main accused has claimed that the vehicle had come in his possession under the rent a car scheme. When asked whether the car belongs to any RTO officer, SP Gawas said the police is trying to ascertain the facts, including the owner and the circumstances under which the Swift vehicle came in the possession of the accused.
In the meantime, Assistant Director, RTO, Nandkishore Arolkar has firmly denied that the Swift car, which has been attached by the police in the robbery case, belongs to him. “The car does not belong to me. The vehicle is not registered in my name,” he clarified.
Meanwhile, SP Arvind Gawas has clarified that the owner of the Swift car Nandkishore Arolkar is not the Assistant Director of Transport. He said the owner is different but with the same name.
