Counillors unhappy with some names

A section of corporators has expressed disappointment with certain names that have made their way to the preliminary list announced by Babush Monserrate.
While all are not willing to come on record, former Mayor Yatin Parekh said that he was disappointed and had no qualms voicing it.
“Yes I am disappointed with some of the names of the panel chosen. I do not want to take individual names of who these people are,” Parekh said.
“We are here for the betterment of Panaji and for society at large. Some names do not deserve to be there. I have informed Babush of my displeasure and my grievance will remain,” he said.
Another councillor who has chosen to remain anonymous has said that he too was disappointed with some names, but there was little he could do but accept the list that was drafted by Babush. “At the end of the day we campaign for all the 30 candidates and sometimes, yes some names we have a problem with,” the councillor said.
