MARGAO
Covid ambassador from Surat-Gujarat, Ln Bhagirath Paliwal, who travelled across the country on his motorcycle, to spread Covid awareness amongst the villagers along the way, has finally reached Margao on Tuesday.
He has so far travelled 20,000 kms and has covered 20 states since he embarked on “Bharat Parikrama 2020” mission -- a journey for Covid-19 awareness.
He started his journey on a Bullet motorcycle on August 28 last with wife Ln Geeta from Surat-Gujarat, which took him to coastal Gujarat, Run of Kutch, the Thar desert Pakistan border Rajasthan, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, cold desert of Ladakh, China border of Himachal, China and Nepal border of Uttrakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, China and Bhutan border of Sikkim, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Bangladesh border of Tripura, Meghalaya, Bangladesh border of West Bengal and East Coast (Bay of Bengal up to Kanyakumari) Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
Welcomed by members of Lions Club of Margao, Lions Club of Salcete, Leo Club of Salcete, Ln Paliwal has been spreading the message on social distancing, wearing of face masks and use of sanitisers amongst the people during his motorcycle journey.
“I will complete my journey after travelling to Maharashtra and back to Surat. Though I had set to complete 24,000 kms, I will now complete only 22,000 kms during to problems between India and China and restrictions in Arunachal Pradesh and Ladakh,” he said.
Ln Paliwal was received at Margao by Ln Shrikant More, 1st Vice District Governor District 317 B along with Lions Club of Margao, Lions Club of Salcete and Leo Club of Salcete with Lion Adrian, Zone Chairperson, Lion Krishna Bagali President Lions Club of Margao, Lion Joaquim Gonsalves President of Lions Club of Salcete, Leo Jwella Gonsalves, Secretary of Leo Club of Salcete.
Lion Bhagirath Paliwal is the Charter president of Lions Club Surat Nakoda.
