Cuncolim celebrates San Joao
PANAJI: Cuncolim parish youth of Our Lady of Health Church, Cuncolim, celebrated São João with traditional Goan dishes. Fr Erediano Fernandes was the chief guest.Fr Agnelo Dias, youth animator welcomed and then the celebrations started with the competitions like the kopel making, sweet dish making and fancy dress in the new parish hall.
40 participants took part in these activities while a live band was in attendance. Jane Fernandes and Julie D'souza were the judges for the contests. Patolleo, holle, shirvolleo, atoll, godshem and various other Goan sweet dishes were prepared.
The evening concluded with the prize distribution ceremony followed by the vote of thanks by the youth president Milroy Dias. The programme was compered by Roshan Fernandes.
