Cuncolim locals warn of blocking highway

There’s been no respite for the people of Cuncolim from the frequent power outages since the last several days, with consumers also complaining of destruction of electrical appliances due to high voltage.

The residents maintained that they have been put to great  hardships owing to frequent power failures. “There is a blackout every day  for long periods of up to two hours without any notice thus disrupting  normal life,” Velency Dias told the media.  
The locals  have now threatened to block the NH-17 on  June 22 at 9.30 am at Cuncolim KTC bus stand in the event the power  department fails to rectify the situation on an

Trees uprooted, houses damaged as strong winds strike Bandora, Shiroda

Twelve members of a family at Talulem-Bandora escaped unhurt after a tree collapsed on their house, following strong winds on Wednesday midnight.
