The Director General of Goa Police T N Mohan on Tuesday inaugurated the newly-established Cyber Crime Forensic Laboratory at Cyber Crime police station at Ribandar.
The function was attended by Inspector General of Police V Renganathan, Superintendents of Police (Crime) Karthik Kashyap and other senior ranking officers of Goa Police.
The set-up of this laboratory is done under the corporate social responsibility programme.
The cyber crime forensic lab is equipped with disk forensic tools, mobile forensic tools, web forensics/ network forensic tools, forensic work station, live forensic tools, SIM forensics and CRD analysis.
While PI Rajesh Job gave a live demonstration of the newly-installed cyber forensic equipment, DGP T N Mohan emphasised the need for equipping Cyber Crime police station with all the essential resources to combat the growing menace of cyber crime in an efficient manner.
He also presented appreciation letters and moments to Cyril DeMello of DeMello Telepower Pvt Ltd, Lt CDR (Retd) Anil Kumar B Nair of Thunder Force Ltd and Mohan Iyer of Advance Composites for their contribution in setting up the lab. SP Kashyap, PI Job, PSI Kabir Shirgaokar and PSI Rounak Kadam were also honoured with appreciation letters for their efforts.
