Water supply at the Dabos Water Treatment Plant is likely to be affected on Tuesday and Wednesday, following a 15-hour power outage in Valpoi and surrounding areas on Monday.

According to sources, a 33KV electricity pole with overhead wires got damaged at Fanaswadi-Naveli on Sunday and the electricity department had shut down power supply at 8 am in many parts of Sattari taluka to undertake repair work.

Power supply was restored at around 5 pm on Sunday, but there was another power outage at 2 am on Monday and it was restored only at about 5 pm.

Sources said the pole came down at Fanaswadi due to road widening work by the side of the pole.

Meanwhile, the Dabos water treatment plant had to be shutdown on account of the power shutdown on Sunday and Monday.

According to information, the Dabos water treatment plant was restarted only after power supply was restored at 5 pm on Monday, but it takes about 24 hours for water supply to be transmitted by pipelines in different parts of the taluka. As a result, there could be a disruption in water supply across many parts of Sattari on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Meanwhile, constant and prolonged power interruptions have severely affected homes and business establishments in Sattari taluka.

About eight days ago, there was a 21-hour power cut and on Monday, there was a power cut for 15 hours.

Many shopkeepers have complained that perishable goods have been damaged to the prolonged power cuts.
