PONDA
A number of vehicles were damaged in a mishap at the Khandepar junction on Monday evening.
While no one was injured in the incident, people have requested the government to expedite work on the bridge to prevent similar mishap at the accident-prone site.
The mishap took place as a speeding cargo truck tried to overtake another vehicle while proceeding from Ponda towards Khandepar, when the driver lost control of the vehicle.
The cargo truck then collided with an oncoming truck and the truck rammed into a car. The cargo truck fell on its side and crushed three two-wheelers parked by the roadside.
All six vehicles suffered extensive damages in the mishap.
