A simple fun outing turned tragic for 21-year-old youth from Guirim who drowned on Sunday evening, Anjuna Police said.
The deceased has been identified as Anthony Fernandes.
Police informed that Fernandes along with his friends went to Assagao to bathe in a lake near the Bala Sakhleshwar temple.
There were at least 25 young boys around the lake who were jumping in the water and having fun, police said.
The deceased did not swim and was suddenly found struggling in the water.
According to police, a local brought the youth out and immediately rushed him to the North Goa District Hospital, where he was declared brought dead,
“There’s no suspicion in the death. We have registered an unnatural death and after an autopsy, handed over the body to his relatives today evening,” a police official in the know informed.
