With no public buses plying between Mobor-Cavelossim-Margao route after 5.45 pm, the Cavelossim panchayat has dashed off a letter to the Transport Department to streamline bus services on the route.
In his letter addressed to the Assistant Transport Director, Margao, Cavelossim sarpanch Dixon Vaz underscored the need to streamline the bus services from Margao to Mobor-Cavelossim and vice versa as there are many complaints from locals that they are facing hardships due to the irregular bus service.
“We are a major tourism hub, hence there is a lot of flow of commuters on a daily basis. Therefore, we need regular and punctual bus services. I will take up the matter with the Transport Minister as well,” he said.
Dixon added: “Also, there are no buses on Sundays at all and no one around to monitor the services, the Transport Director needs to look into the matter and take strict action on the operators who are not plying the buses as per the schedule.”
