After the successful opening of the Zonal Agriculture Office (ZAO) in the Cortalim Market complex, Cortalim MLA Anton Vas put a list of demands to bring in more government offices at the complex for the benefit of the people.
Vas said around 4-5 mega projects had turned into white elephants and requested Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to put them to use soon.
“There are many projects that have just reminded idle and not put into use. We have a huge Cortalim Market complex which remained idle till we shifted the electricity department and also got in the Cortalim outpost here.”
“The WRD is an important department and has helped farmers in a big way as much as desilting the Velsao Lake after two decades. We now have a new ZAO office and we still have more space here and we request the CM to get the WRD office here so that there is public movement in this complex.”
“Cortalim is in the centre of Quelossim, Velsao, Cansaulim and Sancoale and if the CM can give us a new police station and get it in this complex, it will help the people as well. We also have another important project of restoring and beautifying Kesarval Springs that can bring back the tourism activity in this area,” said Vas.
