He was speaking at a function organised on National De-worming Day at Saraswat Vidhyala, Khorlim-Mapusa, organised by the Directorate of Health Services (DHS). D’Souza also distributed Albendazole de-worming tablets to students.
“On the occasion of National De-worming Day, 3.57 lakh children in the State, aged between 1 to 19 years, were given the de-worming dose, including 1,036 anganwadis and 13,000 schools,” he added.
“The children in the State will become stronger if attention is given to their nutrition and the health department is always in service of the people,” stated D’Souza.
Deputy Health director, Dr George D’Souza; chief health officer, Dr Vandana Dhume; Mapusa Urban Health Centre officer, Dr Anant Palekar; councillors Swapnil Shirodkar, Tushar Tople, school headmistress Parvatibai Nadkarni and other health officials were present on
the occasion.
